Bringing Gen Z Closer to the Halal Industry, Ministry of Industry Presents Talk Shows at Industrial Festival 2024

The Ministry of Industry continues to support the development of domestic manufacturing, including by increasing public knowledge of industrial policies and performance. One step being taken is bringing young people closer to industrial issues, to introduce an industrial sector that is inseparable from everyday life and contributes to driving the economy.

This effort is realized through Industrial Festival 2024 on 26–29 September in Halls 9 and 10 of Indonesia Convention Exhibition (ICE) BSD City, Tangerang, as part of the Halal Indonesia Exhibition (Halal Indo) 2024.

Kemenperin has prepared a series of creative and engaging activities targeting young people, especially Gen Z, as stakeholders who will contribute greatly to industrial development, especially in the future.

“Industrial Festival is also an effort to encourage collaboration between industry players, policymakers and the general public. Just as importantly, it aims to promote and strengthen the Ministry of Industry's brand image as part of the domestic ecosystem,” the Secretary General of the Ministry of Industry, Eko S.A. Cahyanto, said in Jakarta on Wednesday (25/9).

A number of influencers and young entrepreneurs will speak at the talk shows, such as Zaskia Adya Mecca, who will share tips on using marketplaces under the theme How to Gain Profit through Market Place.

Other talk shows include halal cosmetics with the theme Cosmetic Halal to Win the Market by Nadhea Tanjung, Why Halal Matters by Ricky Harun, How Young Minds Shape the Industry by Ahmad Risyad, Textile & Apparel Industry and Muslim Fashion by Aisyahrani, and How Technology is Elevating the Halal Industry by Deryansha.

Between sessions, visitors will be entertained by young artists including Idgitaf, Feby Putri Nilam Cahyani and Nadhif Basalamah.

“Besides the talk shows, visitors can attend other activities including workshops, Halal Consultation services and a pop-up market selling various domestic products to support local products,” the Secretary General explained.

He said Industrial Festival 2024 will be held three times. The first edition collaborates with Halal Indo, with more than 500 participating companies. Halal Indo 2024 itself targets 15,000 visitors from more than 35 countries, with opportunities to increase cooperation and investment in the halal industry. The event is also expected to connect halal industries around the world.

For the second Industrial Festival 2024, Kemenperin will collaborate with Yayasan Batik Indonesia to commemorate National Batik Day (HBN) 2024. It will be held at the Grand Atrium of Kota Kasablanka Mall, Jakarta, on 2–6 October 2024, coinciding with National Batik Day.

Kemenperin will again present an interactive tunnel with educational content on the archipelago's batik, as well as talk shows on batik industry development, community engagement, SMI exhibition booths, a fun walk and other exciting activities.

The third Industrial Festival 2024 is planned for November 2024 and is being prepared as the culmination of the festival series.
