The Ministry of Industry is committed to continuing to strengthen oversight of industry in Indonesia, especially in enforcing regulations related to standardization and product quality assurance. This strategic effort also requires synergistic collaboration with relevant stakeholders and the support of competent human resources.
To this end, 30 civil servants from Kemenperin and provincial/regency/city Industry Offices were inaugurated and sworn in as Civil Servant Investigators (PPNS) for Industry. The inauguration was carried out by the Director General of General Legal Administration (AHU) at the Ministry of Law, Widodo, at the Ministry of Law office in Jakarta on Wednesday (19/2).
The Kemenperin employees inaugurated came from several units within the Agency for Industrial Standardization and Services Policy (BSKJI), the Directorate General of Metal, Machinery, Transport Equipment and Electronics Industries (ILMATE), the Directorate General of Agro Industry, and the Directorate General of Resilience, Regional Development and International Industrial Access (KPAII).
Others came from the Office of Industry, Trade, Cooperatives and SMEs of the Administrative City of West Jakarta, the Banten Provincial Office of Industry and Trade, the Central Java Provincial Office of Industry and Trade, the Banyuasin Regency Office of Cooperatives, SMEs, Industry and Trade, the South Sulawesi Provincial Office of Industry and Trade, and the Aceh Office of Industry and Trade.
“PPNS from BSKJI units are tasked with helping the Police enforce the law on industrial standardization and product quality assurance to create a conducive market for domestic products,” the Head of BSKJI, Andi Rizaldi, said in a written statement in Jakarta on Monday (24/2).
The Head of BSKJI also explained that the inaugurated PPNS are selected civil servants who have completed the 200-hour Industry PPNS management training and education at the Criminal Investigation Training Center of the Police Education and Training Institute (Lemdiklat Polri) in Megamendung, Bogor. “The 30 inaugurated Industry PPNS have been given special authority for investigations related to the enforcement of industrial standardization law to uphold Law No. 3 of 2014 on Industry,” he said.
Andi expressed appreciation to the inaugurated PPNS and stressed the importance of their role in ensuring the implementation of quality industrial standards in Indonesia. “These PPNS are the front line in ensuring industry compliance with applicable regulations. With stricter oversight and firm law enforcement, national industry is expected to become increasingly competitive and able to compete in global markets,” he explained.
Andi also highlighted the importance of collaboration among PPNS, the Police and other relevant agencies in creating a healthy and competitive industrial ecosystem. “Good synergy will accelerate the achievement of national industrial development goals based on high standards and quality,” he stressed.
There are currently 95 Industry PPNS, consisting of 71 at Kemenperin and 24 spread across Industry Offices throughout Indonesia. In 2024, 30 additional PPNS were added and inaugurated in February 2025, consisting of 22 from the Ministry of Industry and 8 spread across Industry Offices throughout Indonesia.
According to Andi, with the growing number of competent PPNS, oversight and law enforcement in the industrial sector are expected to be more effective and efficient. “This inauguration is also an important moment for national industry to further increase compliance with applicable regulations,” he said.
In addition, with stricter oversight and firmer law enforcement, domestic industry is expected to develop better and make the maximum contribution to the national economy.
The Director General of AHU also said that Industry PPNS play an important role in helping the Police enforce the law on industrial standardization to create a conducive market for domestic products. “With this inauguration, we hope the inaugurated PPNS will be professional, have integrity and be competent in exercising their authority as investigators in enforcing the laws they uphold,” Widodo said.
