Supporting Industrial Progress, Ministry of Industry Targets Participation in Various International Exhibitions in 2024

In its efforts to introduce the potential of national industry to global markets, the Ministry of Industry (Kemenperin) is committed to actively participating in a series of international exhibitions held in various countries.

“Recognizing the importance of adapting to technological change and global trends, Kemenperin stresses the importance of participating in international industrial exhibitions as a form of support and facilitation to boost national industry's access to global markets,” Minister of Industry Agus Gumiwang Kartasasmita said in Jakarta on Wednesday (27/12).

According to him, this is also a form of appreciation for national industries that keep innovating and are motivated to grow and compete. Prestigious international exhibitions Kemenperin plans to attend include Hannover Messe 2024 in Hannover, Germany; SIAL Paris 2024 in Paris, France; Ambiente in Frankfurt, Germany; and Food Ingredients Europe 2024 in Paris, France, among others. The exhibitions cover various industrial subsectors, including technology, food and beverage ingredients, and crafts and home decor.

“These exhibitions are expected to be an effective platform for broadening export horizons, showcasing excellence and increasing the competitiveness of Indonesian industry,” the Minister explained.

National industry players who took part and achieved optimal results in international exhibitions facilitated by the Ministry of Industry also received awards, including the 2023 Resilience and Sustainable Industry Appreciation. Categories include Best Co-Exhibitor at the Indonesia pavilion at Hannover Messe 2023, received by the Oil Palm Plantation Fund Management Agency, and Best Investment, won by the Wiraraja Industrial Estate for its participation in Hannover Messe 2023.

Besides promoting industrial achievements, international exhibitions are seen as a strategic opportunity to build business cooperation and attract investment. By bringing together industry players from many countries, they are expected to open new opportunities for business collaboration and knowledge exchange, and broaden national industry's insight into potential and trends in global markets and the latest technology.

The Director General of Resilience, Regional Development and International Industrial Access (KPAII) at the Ministry of Industry, Eko S.A. Cahyanto, hopes Indonesia's active participation in these exhibitions will open new opportunities, not only for economic growth but also to cement Indonesia's position as a key player in global markets. Through stronger international cooperation and global business networks, Indonesia is determined to keep growing and competing on the world stage. Indonesia will again take part in Hannover Messe 2024, further strengthening Indonesia's branding internationally as a world manufacturing power that consistently transforms through Industry 4.0 technology.

Building on the Success of Hannover Messe

In 2023, Indonesia was successfully the Official Partner Country of Hannover Messe, held on 17–21 April 2023. The prestigious event featured more than 150 co-exhibitors and produced 30 agreements projected to create up to 80,000 jobs.

Indonesia's planned return to Hannover Messe 2024 follows up its participation as Official Partner Country at Hannover Messe 2023, as part of a sustained campaign for the Making Indonesia 4.0 policy and to increase exports and investment, industrial cooperation and Indonesia's national branding as a world economic power and global manufacturing player.

For Hannover Messe 2024, Kemenperin will prepare thoroughly, especially regarding participation, a range of engaging programs and a showcase of Indonesia's leading industries at the event.

“Although Indonesia is not the official partner country, we are optimistic that participation in Hannover Messe 2024 will again produce maximum results. With Indonesia's return, its networks and cooperation agreements with countries internationally will expand further,” Eko concluded.
