The Ministry of Industry (Kemenperin) continues to strengthen the pillars of economic growth by strengthening standardization and industrial service policies in line with the New National Industrialization Strategy (SBIN). As an important instrument for increasing the competitiveness of the manufacturing sector, SBIN aims to ensure that all domestic industrial products and services meet globally recognized standards of quality, safety and sustainability.
Minister of Industry Agus Gumiwang Kartasasmita said strengthening standardization services and industrial service policies is a strategic step to ensure national industry can compete sustainably amid global dynamics. Therefore, the Agency for Industrial Standardization and Service Policy (BSKJI) is committed to transforming technical services into integrated solutions that are responsive to market needs.
“The integration of BSKJI services is an important part of Kemenperin's efforts to create an efficient, adaptive and highly competitive industrial ecosystem. Standardized, transparent and integrated services will provide certainty for industry players and strengthen market confidence in national products,” the Minister of Industry said in a statement on Wednesday (4/2).
At the BSKJI Collaboration Forum 2026, themed “Accelerating the Transformation of Industrial Services through the Integration and Strategic Collaboration of Competitive BSKJI Work Units”, the Secretary General of the Ministry of Industry, Eko S.A. Cahyanto, stressed the importance of the Ministry of Industry Incorporated spirit. “This forum is a concrete effort to strengthen the organization so that it works as one whole unit, aligned and mutually reinforcing toward a single performance goal,” Eko said.
To face current industrial dynamics, BSKJI is adopting a Strategic Control business model that combines functional and operational control, strengthened by strategic planning and integrated financial management. The main pillars of this transformation include the implementation of the BSKJI single branding portal and the Integrated Public Service Information System (SIPPT) to ensure transparent and traceable one-stop services, as well as the development of new services beyond testing and certification to increase industrial added value.
To improve operational efficiency, BSKJI is also consolidating its resources thoroughly by centralizing strategic functions in human resources and assets. This strategy is designed so that all internal potential no longer runs piecemeal, but is managed in an integrated way to deliver greater added value for industry.
BSKJI currently has 24 Technical Implementation Units (UPT) throughout Indonesia and maximizes the role of 2,360 competent personnel through a resource sharing mechanism, especially certification service auditors who can be mobilized between work units as needed.
The Head of BSKJI, Emmy Suryandari, said BSKJI's performance has shown a consistently positive trend. BSKJI's realized Non-Tax State Revenue (PNBP) rose from IDR 228.34 billion in 2022 to IDR 329.77 billion in 2025. The number of customers also rose significantly, from around 16 thousand in 2022 to 23 thousand in 2025.
“BSKJI's services are currently still dominated by testing at 47.5 percent and certification at 27.5 percent. However, we continue to encourage service diversification so that we become more adaptive to industry needs, including strengthening halal inspection services, green industry certification and technical guidance,” Emmy said.
As part of strengthening UPT capacity, especially the 14 UPTs with Public Service Agency (BLU) status, Kemenperin also introduced a mechanism for using BLU balances to address liquidity imbalances between work units. This step is carried out with the support of a strict risk management framework to ensure the continuity of public services.
“Through this service transformation, Kemenperin affirms that improving service quality and capacity is the top priority. Increased state revenue is a consequence of industry players' growing trust in the excellent services provided by BSKJI,” Emmy concluded.
